Hey man,

Thank you so much for the comment and the favorite on [link] I'm glad you like it.

I feel that there is alot of symbolism in the piece. One of the things is certainly the cross=tree=bark connection. I have often wondered why we sometimes call the cross a tree. I have never been able to figure that out. I suppose my best guess is that the word "tree" evokes something in us that the word "cross" doesn't. Or perhaps the cross that Jesus hung on was so rugged and unfinished that it still looked like a tree. Huh. Either way, I'm glad you like it. Thanks again.

The title is from the prechorus of the worship song "The Wonderful Cross". It is an excellent song and full of truth. The chorus is as follows-

Oh the wonderful cross
Oh the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful cross
Oh the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless Your name

That's sweet man. That's way old school right there. It looks sweet how the mountain and the foreground look watercolor....sweet job. Cool how you went from that little scribble there to that.

Yes, i'd read those words in the book of Ecclesiastes. Infact, if i'm not wrong, the song was borrowed from the book.
